Ruz Chishty is an international entrepreneur/investor with strong professional networks in over 60 countries. Having lived in 7 countries, he is an expert on business development, crowd funding and sales. He has worked for some largest technology companies around the world generating over $25M in new revenues, Ruz now devotes all his time on developing the UK eco-system and is a mentor on a number of the leading programs in the UK. Currently, the London Director for the Founder Institute (the world’s largest start-up accelerator), he is also on the advisory board for Start-up Stock Exchange and works with international partnerships in the Silicon Valley, Latin America and Asia. Ruz is regularly invited by the UK Department for International trade and TechCity UK to speak on international expansion, and act as a judge on pitch panels and a mentor to a selection of companies. Ruz holds a Law degree and Masters in Business Computing from London. He graduated from IE (Spain) with a MBA and spent time at University of Washington in Seattle.
Ruz will discuss the rules of scaling the dynamics of markets/countries, the critical nature of trends and timing and how approaches should vary in different countries/markets. He’ll also share the perspective from the UK and discuss where the opportunities are for Aussie companies in the UK and how he would approach expanding internationally.Wednesday November 30th The Cluster is opening its doors to their private penthouse Lounge. Melbourne Silicon Beach is the second largest tech startup community in Melbourne. Their monthly Drinks & Pitch Night held on the first Thursday night has become a regular feature in the city's startup calendar. What began as a casual networking drinks meetup has now grown to nearly 7,000 members and features a very popular livestreamed 90-second pitch segment where most aspiring startup founders do their first ever public pitch.
